Dr. Adolfine Hokororo, is a Consultant Paediatrician and Clinical epidemiologist working at Bugando Medical Centre (BMC) and a Lecturer in Pediatrics and Child health at Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS) – Bugando, in Mwanza Tanzania.

She is a member of the Board of Experts for the East Africa Centre for Vaccines and Immunization (ECAVI), a vaccines systems support, research, advocacy and training program in Eastern Africa.

She holds a Bachelors of Medicine Degree (MD) from Russian State University of Medicine and Dentistry, Moscow; Masters in Medicine in Pediatrics and Child Health (M.Med) degree of Makerere University, and a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research of Weill Cornell Medical College, New York USA.

For the past five years she has served as Team Leader and Supervisor for WHO/CDC and Tanzanian Ministry Of Health and Social Welfare New Vaccine Surveillance activities for Rotavirus, Paediatric Meningitis and Congenital Rubella Syndrome. She has been participating in various health facility assessment works and supportive supervision and mentoring activities on HIV care and treatment, Emergency Paediatric care and newborn care in Lake Zone area of Tanzania.

She is and has worked as Trainer for health care workers on various Ministry of Health programs including Pediatric HIV, Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), and helping Babies Breathe (HBB). She has authored and co-authored a total of 12 scientific papers which have been published in peer reviewed journals.
